M.I.T.C.H. Charter School
M.I.T.C.H. Charter School is a 501(c)3 non profit school approved by the Tigard/Tualatin School Districts. M.I.T.C.H. stands for Multi-sensory Instruction Teaching Children Hands On. M.I.T.C.H. is a publicly funded school so the students and their families do not pay tuition. Our charter capacity is 250 students and we currently have 247 students enrolled. Enrollment in M.I.T.C.H. is based on a lottery system.
The M.I.T.C.H. Advantage
- M.I.T.C.H. was founded on a passion of academic excellence. We value and protect the pursuit of academics with a proven track record of being a top performing school.
- "Outstanding" rating by the Oregon Department of Education; our curriculum has been designed to teach each individual student.
- Innovative curriculum places M.i.T.C.H. students one year ahead of state requirements.
- Core Knowledge Program, Agriculture in the classroom, Orton based Language Arts.
- Saxon Math, Hands-on learning classwork and instruction specific field trips.
- We continue to offer important educational activities such as outdoor school, guest speakers, science fair, art and music.
- 25 students per class average.
- Kindergarten through 8th grade.
- We operate extended days: Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 3:15 pm.
- Fridays are for staff development, conferences, performances and student field trips.
- We average over 50 additional hours more per year of instruction than traditional public schools.
